Stuart grew up in a small West Texas where everyone knows everyone—Ballinger Texas. Ballinger has 4,200 residents, a 3A school where football is king, three stoplights and 33 churches. Once Stuart was old enough to “make a hand” he spent his weekends and summers helping run the family ranching business. Working on the ranch taught Stuart the value of a hard days work, a love for the entrepreneurial spirit, and an appreciation for holding up your end of the job.
After graduating from The University of Texas with a BBA, he started working as a computer programmer in Houston, Texas. Houston was a BIG change from Ballinger, but the excitement of the city quickly won him over. Early in his career Stuart realized that he enjoyed leading teams so he made the transition to project management. He was successful as a project leader by being a straight shooting consultant with his clients, and by being a trustworthy and down-to-earth team leader with his development team. His career as a project manager provided the opportunity for Stuart to work with many fine companies in Houston including AIG-VALIC, Dealer Solutions, Compaq, CGI Consulting and Reliant Energy. Stuart spent the last two years of this information technology career managing multi-million dollar projects. The projects were typically 9 to 18 months in duration. While working on these projects, Stuart coordinated the efforts of over 30 project team members in three cities on two continents.
The entrepreneurial spirit never left Stuart so after 12 years in information technology, he took his career in a new direction. After several years of investing in Real Estate as a side business, Stuart recognized that a lot of people could be helped by a trustworthy advocate to help them reach their goals and dreams in real estate. He decided to become a Realtor® and help his clients searching for a new home find the perfect home and negotiate with the seller to arrive at the best final sales price. For the clients selling their home, he will be helping them market their homes in ways that will generate qualified buyers and assist them in pricing their home competitively. Stuart will be monitoring the paperwork through the sales process and keeping in close contact with the lenders, title company, inspectors, the other real estate agent and of course his clients to ensure that closing goes as smoothly as possible. His approach will be to help families fulfill their dreams by providing first-class real estate consulting services and superior communication.
Stuart and his lovely wife Gwynne have grown roots in Houston. They are members of a local church and have several investment properties in the Houston area. Stuart understands the importance of giving back to the community and is a member of the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce (the JayCees), and will soon be a member of The Woodlands JayCees when that chapter becomes established. Stuart also belongs to the Houston Association of Realtors and the Real Estate Investment Club of Houston.
In his spare time Stuart enjoys spending time with his two children and their lovely mother. To relax Stuart plays golf on many of the local public courses and is an amature golf club builder. For those “rare” occasions when golf is too frustrating to be relaxing he takes the family to the movies and he is an avid reader.
